Very nice servers and overall staff. It's a little interesting to have to go to the bar prior to being seated. The bartender wasn't very knowledgeable on the different beer selections but her ability to make a great environment via conversation was delightful

The home made sauce with the homemade gnocchi, ravioli or pasta is phenomenal. If I’m craving steak the tournedoe never disappoints, and the sautéed mushrooms and onions are always fresh. The home made bread with the mussels are my app of choice. You can’t beat home made!

Great place don't miss it

We eat here every time we come up north; servers are always extremely pleasant, and all the food we have ever gotten here has been great. Prices are about what you'd expect for what's on the menu. Not a ton of variety, but enough to satisfy most people. I usually get the filet mignon or orange roughy myself.

Our extended family met at El Capitan Supper Club for dinner and enjoyed a nice meal with great service. The wait staff was experienced in mature. Numerous Italian pasta dishes to choose from, fresh salad, and good bread. This restaurant has been open for a number of years serving the local community. We enjoyed eating there well in town.

The food is authentic Italian and mouth watering. Everything is homemade and delicious. The service was excellent and I can't wait to come back here again next year. Business trips here are great because this is my favorite Italian place to eat. The dining area is beautiful and has a fetching view. I will always get whatever special they have during the week because it is well worth it!

Great Italian restaurant. Had a table by a window looking out on the yard and had a show with dinner. 4 bucks, free-roaming chickens, and rabbits. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding

Probably some of the best food I have ever eaten. I've been here a few times and each time the meal was amazing. The staff is very friendly (Ginger has been our server twice and is wonderful) and the owner has come around each time to say hello and chat for a bit. This place is a MUST if you're for a great meal and a great time. Can't recommend it enough.

The absolute best Italian food I have ever had, period. Frankly, we should rename Italian food, “northern Michigan/Wisconsin food”, because the oldest recipe in Italy can ‘t touch this spot. If this place was next to my house I would be the next 600 lb. man. Wonderful, beautiful, amazing, awesome Italian goodness. Worth driving 200 miles just for takeout. Mmm mmm. I wish I didn’t live 8 hours away.

Had the Prawns and wife had steak&shrimp. Steak a little overdone but the rest very satisfying. Service was excellent. Will be going back. Hard to find anyone that can cook or grill a great steak besides me or Fontana's, who is now closed.

Great, made fresh daily Italian food

Been going to El cap for many years, needless to say won't be back again. Took in-laws out for dinner Tuesday night and top to bottom horrible. First no one came to seat us, then after we placed our order they brought out salads that had two tiny grape tomatoes and possibly ten lil pieces of lettuce. Then when meals showed up two pepper steak and two tournado steaks. The pepper steaks were half the size they used to be and each had five small pieces of steak and the noodles were hard and uncooked, one of the Rav sides was also hard and uncooked. No one came back to fill drinks or water until almost finished with what we ate. Bill was 145.00 and wasn't worth $20 I've was warned by friends that the place has gone down hill and don't go, but after being gone for a yr we wanted El cap. Never again!

The best Italian restaurant in the area and one of the only places in town to get calamari. They have the best ravioli.

As tradition, we go here every year and have loved it every time. Servers are always attentive and friendly. We are never in a rush and just enjoy our time in good company.

Good food at affordable prices. It can get busy at times so I would recommend calling ahead for reservations if you have a large group or it is a popular night.

Service was good, menu was simple and definitely favored pastas. Food was good, but we felt the red sauce was a bit on the tomato side for us. Dinning area was well lighted, comfortable and spacious.

The food is amazing, the wait staff are prompt, and it's amazing atmosphere!

My wife and I have eaten here two different times. The first time the pasta was over cooked and the sauce was bland. We had shrimp, we couldn't eat them because they tasted of chlorine, caused by freezing for a long time and thawing in the chlorinated water. I complained and the owner made excuses and did not even consider the possibility that he could improve his quality control. Two months later we gave it another try. We had pasta and meat. the sauce was thin and water pooled in the plate the sauce was very bland. The meat balls had no Italian seasoning and was very bland. the service was very slow and we were constantly waiting for service. We have decided to cross this off our list.

Disappointed. Tiramisu is not cheesecake. Scallops mornay was watery not cheesy and a terrible price for what I received.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Fish fry prices a little high but pasta is reasonable.

Terrible experience. Started with warm shrimp cocktail at the bar, an extra long wait for a table, ran out of the nightly special, pasta sides not cooked to even al dente, pasta sauce tasted like watered down tomato paste, steak tough and arrived with missing ingredients. Baked potato and bread was good though. Not sure what happened last night but not a smooth running operation.
